Brief Description:
I kept wondering what it would be like to have a brain looking at a brain, looking at a painting of a brain. The idea made me smile, and it became the starting point for this work. Instead of painting the brain literally, I used its four lobes as inspiration and translated each into my own visual language:
Frontal Lobe: Cosmos flowers representing personality and curiosity.
Parietal Lobe: A cactus representing touch, resilience, and my Mexican heritage.
Temporal Lobe: Flowing marks inspired by sound, memory, and the movement of ideas.
Occipital Lobe: Eyes reminding us that the way we see the world shapes our experiences.
Somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like a painting of the brain and became El Jardín de la Mente, a garden where curiosity, memory, culture, and imagination are free to grow together. That is what creativity feels like. I hope viewers slow down, wander through the garden, and discover their own connections.
