Story Behind the Work.

I made this piece during a moment of heaviness, one of those days when the heart just feels tired.

I wanted to show that even mariposas cry. Even the strongest women have soft moments, and there is beauty in that vulnerability.

The tear represents truth, not weakness. The rose in her hand holds her softness, while the sunflowers remind us that we still bloom, even when our hearts ache. Her butterfly wings honor the transformations we go through.

It’s a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay. Tears are just another kind of healing.
