Story Behind the Work.
Raíces con Trenzas is a triptych that honors the bond between generations of women and the invisible threads that connect us across time. Through three windows and braided ribbons, the piece reflects ancestry, memory, and the ways love, resilience, and healing are passed down from one generation to the next.
Each figure exists in her own moment, yet none stand alone. This artwork is a reminder that our roots are not something we leave behind, but something we carry with us as we grow.
Connection:
La Abuela – La Sabiduría
She represents ancestry, wisdom, and the foundation laid by the women who came before us. Her presence holds memory, survival, and quiet strength. She is the root from which everything else grows.
La Niña – La Esperanza
She symbolizes innocence, inner niña healing, and new beginnings. She carries imagination, vulnerability, and the parts of ourselves that need gentleness. She reminds us that healing often begins by tending to the child within.
La Mujer – La Fuerza
She represents growth, transformation, and becoming. Standing in the present, she carries both inherited pain and inherited love. She embodies the courage it takes to break cycles, heal openly, and choose a softer future.
